Show Fight Card (with links): 3/22
This Week in Wrestling History (music?)
March 22, 1985: Hacksaw Jim Duggan Defeated The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase in a Loser Leaves Town Tuxedo Coal Miner’s Glove on a Pole Steel Cage Match.
March 22, 1993: WWE Hall of Fame Begins
Who was the sole inductee? (Don’t look at the link if you’re reading this early. You can guess).
March 22, 1999: Stone Cold Steve Austin drives a beer truck to the ring on Monday Night Raw and proceeds to give the corporation a beer bath.
March 22, 2001: WWF Smackdown airs live for the first time! (We are LIVE!!)
March 23, 2001: WWE purchases WCW, ending the Monday Night Wars and beginning the invasion of WCW/ECW storyline. This is why we have brand drafts and assignment to maintain the doubled roster size.
March 22, 2004: First ever draft lottery was held on Monday Night Raw!
March 22, 2020: WWE 24/7 Champion Riddick Moss is taking a jog through his neighborhood with his belt when a referee pulls along side him in a sedan. R-Truth is hiding in the trunk and pins Moss to claim the championship before exclaiming, “You need to go back to football Randy Moss!” and jumping in the car, driving away and leaving Moss and the Ref in the dust.
Wrestlemania Moments:
March 28, 1999: Butterbean knocks out Bart Gunn in 35 seconds in a Brawl for All Boxing Match and Stone Cold Steve Austin defeats the Rock for the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania 15.
March 28, 2010: The Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels in a “Streak vs. Career” match, forcing Michaels to retire at Wrestlemania 26. One of my favorite matches from build up to end of all time.
